Good Morning Yesterday: Bartley Secondary School
Many schools in Singapore are named after the place where they are. Whitley secondary school, Valley of the river of Dunearn, Bukit Merah, Naval Base, are just a few examples. The strange thing is that many of these schools have moved to other places, so much so that their names do not reflect their geographic locations. Whitley secondary school is a good example. It used to be situated at the junction of the road to Dunearn Road and Whitley. However, it moved to Bishan some years ago and the land is now occupied by the Chinese girls school in Singapore. Another example is Swiss Cottage secondary school moved to Bukit Batok neighbours.
